Kicking Off a Powerful New Solar & Storage Project!
24 July 2025
It's an exciting day here at Power & Control as we're kicking off a fantastic new residential project that I've been involved in planning from the get-go.
We've been working very closely with our client on this one to design a system that not only meets their energy needs today but also future-proofs their home for years to come. The goal was to maximise power generation and energy storage, all while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic. After much discussion and careful consideration of the available technology, we've landed on a seriously impressive setup.
The Heart of the System: High-Output Solar Panels
For the solar array, we've opted for 21 Aiko Neostar 3P 485W N-Type ABC panels. These are genuinely top-of-the-line, and we specifically chose them for their incredibly high output and efficiency. After collaborating with the client, we knew a high-performance panel was the priority. The N-Type ABC (All Back Contact) technology is fantastic at converting sunlight into electricity, and the all-black, single-glass frame gives them a really clean and stylish look on the roof. It's the perfect blend of performance and aesthetics.
An Integrated Energy Storage & Charging Solution
To manage and store all that solar energy, we're installing a complete Sigenergy ecosystem. This is where it gets really clever. The system includes:
A Sigenergy 10kW single-phase controller, which is the brains of the operation, efficiently managing the flow of energy throughout the home.
Two Sigenergy 8kW batteries, giving the homeowner a massive 16kWh of storage. This will allow them to store excess solar energy generated during the day to use in the evening, significantly reducing their reliance on the grid.
A Sigenergy EVDC 25KW Charger. This is a game-changer for any electric vehicle owner, offering incredibly fast charging speeds powered by the sun.
And finally, the Sigenergy SP Gateway, which will provide seamless monitoring and control over the entire system.
A Foundation of Quality
Underpinning the entire solar array is the ValkAce Mounting system. You don't see it, but this is a critical part of the installation. It's a robust and reliable system that ensures the panels are securely and optimally positioned on the roof for maximum sun exposure.
It’s projects like this that make me proud to be part of the Power & Control team. We're not just installing equipment; we're providing our clients with energy independence and a sustainable future.
I'll be on-site managing this project over the coming days and can't wait to see it all come together. Stay tuned for more updates and to see the final result!
