About Ewan

I’m Ewan, and my career has been defined by a deep understanding of the electrical industry from both sides of the counter. At Power and Control Ltd, I focus on optimising our commercial processes and ensuring our projects are backed by the best resources available.

My journey started early. I entered the electrical wholesale sector at age 16, cutting my teeth on the trade counter where I learned the fundamentals of sales, product specification, and business management. I grasped the commercial landscape quickly; by the time I was 18, I was already managing an £800k portfolio. This early success propelled me into Key Account Management, where I looked after large-scale jobs and learned to be purely solutions-driven, identifying exactly what products were needed to navigate complex and challenging situations.

However, I knew that to be truly effective, I needed to understand the other side of the equation. I transitioned to an electrical contractor role, managing purchasing and stock, but I also spent years "on the tools" installing ELV products like Data, Security, CCTV, and Fibre. This hands-on experience was invaluable. It means I don't just order parts; I understand the technical troubleshooting involved and I know exactly what the team needs on-site to get the job done right.

This dual perspective is what drives my approach today. Because I’ve stood in the installer's shoes, I can make informed commercial decisions that support the workflow on the ground. I utilise a vast network of contacts built over years in the industry to negotiate the best terms and discounts, giving us a competitive edge on our quotes and ensuring the best possible service for our clients.

Now at Power and Control Ltd, I am able to bring all these strands together. My goal is to collaborate with my peers to refine our business processes and structures, taking the company’s operations to the next tier of efficiency and success.
