A Busy Week in Oxford
19 September 2025
It feels like I've spent most of this week on the M40, but it has been for good reason! We've had a major focus on four different jobs in Oxford, and it’s been a fantastic showcase of our team's ability to manage projects at every possible stage, all at the same time.
It's quite rare, but this week I saw the entire lifecycle of our work played out across these four sites. One project is right at the very beginning, having just been stripped 'back to the bones'. This is where everything is removed, leaving us with a completely blank canvas to start building the new electrical and mechanical systems from scratch.
A little further down the line, another site is now fully 'first fixed'. All the behind-the-scenes cabling and containment are in place, ready for the second fix team to come in and install the sockets, lights, and final fittings.
And then, the most satisfying part of any project manager's week: we officially completed and handed over two other jobs. Seeing a project through from the initial plans to the final flick of a switch is always a proud moment for the whole team. It’s a great feeling to know we've delivered a high-quality, fully operational system for our client.
After such a hectic few weeks juggling these sites, I will be glad to get back to some of our more local works! It’s been a productive one, but I’m definitely looking forward to a shorter commute.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
