Blog Title: From Strength to Strength: A Look at This Week’s Solar Installations Author: Daniel Kelly, Managing Director Posted: [Date]
It’s been another incredibly productive week here at Power & Control, and I’m always proud to see our teams delivering high-quality, bespoke energy solutions for our clients. The demand for renewable technology continues to grow, and our engineers are working hard to design and install systems that make a real difference—both to our clients' energy bills and to the environment.
This week, I wanted to spotlight three distinct solar PV projects that our teams successfully completed. What I find exciting is how different each project is; it perfectly showcases our ability to tailor a solution to a client's specific needs, property type, and energy goals.
Here’s a quick overview of what we’ve been up to:
Project 1: The Powerful Hybrid Storage System
This first installation was a comprehensive domestic solution. The goal here was maximum self-sufficiency, pairing high-performance panels with a powerful hybrid inverter and a substantial 10kW battery. This allows the homeowner to store the clean energy they generate during the day and use it themselves in the evening, significantly reducing their reliance on the grid.
- Panels: 14 x Dmeg G 450W Panels
- Inverter: Fox 6kW Hybrid Inverter
- Storage: Fox EP11 10kW Battery
- Mounting: Valkace Mounting System
- Extras: Birdblocker protection around the full array
Project 2: The Large-Scale Optimised Array
This was a much larger and more complex project on a slate roof, requiring meticulous planning and installation. We used 42 high-efficiency Aiko panels, but the real key here was the use of Tigo Optimisers on every single panel. This ensures that even if one panel is partially shaded, it doesn't affect the output of the others, guaranteeing maximum performance for the entire system. This powerful array feeds two Sigenergy inverters and a huge battery bank, all mounted neatly on a custom-built Unistrut frame in a tight space.
- Panels: 42 x Aiko 475W Panels
- Optimisers: Tigo Optimiser on each panel
- Inverters: 2 x 5kW Sigenergy Inverters
- Storage: 3 x 9kW Sigenergy Batteries (27kW total)
- Extras: Sigenergy Gateway, SolaSkirt Bird Protection
Project 3: The Flat Roof Solution
This project demonstrates our ability to adapt to different building types. For this client, we used a specialist Valk flat roof mounting system, which is designed to be non-penetrative and secure. This smaller, efficient system still packs a punch with a 5kW battery, providing stored energy and immediate savings for the client.
- Panels: 6 x Aiko 485W Panels
- Inverter: 3.68kW Sigenergy Inverter
- Storage: 1 x 5kW Sigenergy Battery
- Mounting: Valk flat roof system
Our Focus on Quality
Seeing these three distinct projects go from design to successful commissioning in a single week is a testament to the hard work and expertise of our entire team—from Ben and Jake in the projects department to our skilled engineers on-site.
We don't just install the main components; we ensure the longevity and quality of the entire system. From using specialist slate flashing kits to protect the roof's integrity to installing Birdblocker to safeguard the panels, we take pride in doing the job right.
Three more clients are now generating their own clean, sustainable power, and we're already busy planning the next wave of installations.
A huge well done to the team for a fantastic week's work.
