A Look at Two of Our Current Sites in Oxford

It’s always great to get out of the office and see our projects taking shape in the real world. This week, I got to check in on a couple of our jobs over in Oxford and see the fantastic progress our engineers are making.

First up was a site that’s currently a "blank canvas." The team is in the middle of a complete refurbishment of a toilet area, and they have just started the "strip out." This is where all the old, outdated wiring and fittings get cleared out to make way for the new. The plan is for a full upgrade: a new distribution board, modern lighting, fresh power outlets, and all the associated mechanical works. It was exciting to see the space cleared and ready for a complete transformation!

Next, I visited a similar project that's much further down the line. Here, the team is wrapping up the "first fix." That’s all the essential behind-the-scenes stuff – running cables, fitting containment, and installing back boxes before the walls get closed up.

As with any job, there are always a few puzzles to solve. The team is currently working closely with the design team to iron out a few details, but it’s all part of the process. Good communication and teamwork mean these things get sorted out quickly to keep the project moving forward smoothly.

It's a busy but productive time for everyone here, and it was brilliant to see the quality of work our team is delivering on the ground.
