A Project Manager's View: Future-Proofing Cooper Parry's Sky View Office
13 November 2025
It’s not every day you get to work on a project that ticks so many boxes at once, but our recent work at Cooper Parry's Sky View office at East Midlands Airport was one of them. As a Project Manager, my job is to steer the ship from the initial brief to the final handover, and this project was a fantastic example of what our team can do.
The brief was clear: make the building safer, greener, and ready for the future.
This wasn't just a simple "change a few lightbulbs" job. We undertook a complete LED lighting refit across the entire office. The difference is instant—not just in the brightness and quality of the light, which makes for a much better working environment, but in the energy savings Cooper Parry will see.
Alongside this, we handled the critical safety aspects. Our team conducted a full EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report). This is essentially a deep-dive "health check" for a building's entire electrical system. We found a few areas that needed attention and carried out all the remedial works to bring everything up to the highest standard.
Finally, and this is the part I find really exciting, we installed new EV charging points. Five years ago, this was a "nice to have"; today, it's an essential. Seeing that infrastructure go in at such a key location, knowing we're helping a client meet their sustainability goals, is incredibly rewarding.
A project with this many parts—lighting, compliance, and new technology—requires serious coordination. I’m incredibly proud of our engineers who worked diligently to deliver a seamless installation with minimal disruption to the Cooper Parry team.
We’ve left the Sky View site knowing it's safer, more energy-efficient, and perfectly equipped for the future. On to the next one!
