Checking In On Quality: A Site Visit to Our Oxford Project

One of the best parts of my job is getting to see our projects take shape and supporting the teams that make it all happen. This week, I had the pleasure of visiting our engineers on-site in the historic city of Oxford, where they are delivering the electrical works for a toilet refurbishment project.

My main goal for a site visit like this is always to connect with our team, review their progress, and ensure our commitment to quality is being delivered every step of the way. It's a chance to collaborate and make sure the project is running smoothly. For me, it’s a vital opportunity to check in on the key elements that define a Power & Control project:

  • Maintaining High Standards: I want to see that the quality of workmanship is at the high standard we're known for, ensuring a reliable installation for our client.
  • Prioritising Safety: Safety is always our top priority. I check that all safety measures are being followed, which is especially important on a live site that is still in use.
  • Adhering to the Plan: I confirm that the work on-site aligns perfectly with the design specification and is progressing on schedule.
  • Respecting the Environment: It’s important to see our teams working cleanly and coordinating effectively with other trades on the project.

I was thrilled, but not surprised, to see our team in Oxford doing a fantastic job. Their strong attention to detail and seamless coordination with the other trades were a credit to them. It’s this professionalism and collaborative spirit that makes us proud.

I always leave these visits feeling incredibly proud of the skilled engineers who represent Power & Control on the ground. It’s more than a management task; it’s an exercise in teamwork and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
